The Yamaha VX-1, Yamaha’s “mini Flying V” VX1 model is quite a rare bird made in Yamaha’s Hamamatsu factory only in 1985. The original pickups are Seymour Duncan SH-8 Invader, and sound bright and full ay the same time. The guitar has Yamahas proprietary tremolo system which operates via a traditionally designed “Whammy Bar”
There is quite little known about this type of Yamaha guitar, apart from its relative rarity and it was produced from a very short while during the 1980’s. A later version, the VX-2 had a more sophisticated tremolo system and was kitted out with a coil tap system for wide tonal variety. Sound, playability and tone is excellent and a treat coming from a small flying V shaped guitar, lives in original Yamaha Flying V gig bag.
