Here 1980s glossy black Yamaha SG-510 electric guitar in excellent condition; there is very little and hardly noticeable wear. The Yamaha SG-510 was introduced in 1984 as a follow up to the earlier Yamaha SG-300 and Yamaha SG400 that were issued in 1978-1979 as an addition to the initial Yamaha SG line up. Yamaha SG500, 700, 1500 and 2000 that were produced since 1976.
The SG-510 was produced in red, black and a special issue in blue, with the blue being the rarest and referring to the famous Japanese guitarist Noyori Takanaka. The SG-510 is a light-weight and excellent guitar and its flat design and lighter weight makes it easy to play, it has low action with a powerful sound from 2 high output double humbuckers. A black version of this guitar was used by Andy Taylor of Duran Duran on the live recordings of “Rio”.
