Rickenbacker bass guitars have found their way into mainstream rock music for decades and bands like Beatles, Motörhead, Rush and Genesis to name but a few have contributed to the popularity of these instruments. Based on the original 4000series, the 4001 model features the crest wave design and flat, neck thru body construction. The 4001 features 2 single coil pickups. The bass is fairly light compared to some contemporary rock machines. However it plays and balances well.
