As part of Yamaha’s Lawsuit era line up, we here have a vintage midrange range Yamaha SL-500s, Studio Lord, the Japanese Yamaha version of the Les Paul model. These guitars were produced during the 1970s and early 1980s, together with the better known Yamaha SG range. This model has a maho body, maple cap and rosewood fingerboard with a set neck. Studio Lords are more than just Yamaha’s Les Paul copies, the are high quality, solidly and well build guitars that can take on their Gibson counterparts with pride, like any vintage Japanese guitar, this one has been used and may have some genuine play wear. However, that all ads to the character and gives this axe lots of mojo and vintage vibe.
