Gibson L-5s (Natural Wood, 1978)

There are a few Gibson L5-s, in my collection, mostly beautifully sunburst or tobacco sunburst finished. However, the plain figure maple version is one of the most stunning Gibson solid bodied guitars. In previous post I mentioned the L-5s is basically a solid body version of the Gibson L5 semiacoustic Guitar. Fairly flat pancake body, slightly arched maple top and bottom with ebony fingerboard. Apart from the double sided binding and the Ebony fretboard with real abalone, it’s not dissimilar to the Gibson L6-s. The cavity backplate is made out of the same wood. Originally designed as a jazz/fusion guitar and kitted out with low impedance pick ups, laterally it came with standard humbuckers. This guitar has had some modifications done, although all the original elements are kept. Like the other L-5s, this one packs a big punch. Guitar lives in its Case.
