Yamaha LP-600s (Sunburst, 1980)

Here a vintage midrange range Yamaha LP-600s, Lord Player, the Japanese Yamaha version of the Les Paul model, with the Gibson like open book headstock and Kluson Tuners. These guitars were produced during the late 1970s and early 1980s, together with the better known Yamaha SL and SG range. This model has a maho body, maple cap and rosewood fingerboard with a set neck. The guitar sports the open book headstock, to emulate the Gibsons of the day, and landed Yamaha with a Gibson lawsuit. However, that does not detract from the quality of the Yamahas. Lord Players (and Studio Lords) were more than just Yamaha’s Les Paul copies; these were high quality, solid and well build guitars. Guitar is kitted out with strong humbuckers and a coil tapping option factory fitted, the tonal range of this instrument is great.
