For those who play bass, there is every chance they will have used a Fender bass at some point. Whether it is a Precision (P-Bass) or Jazz Bass (J-Bass) Fender has become part of Rock’s furniture.
Similar to the Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster, the Fender P and Jazz Bass are an institution. My Collection has a few. See below for some examples.
Here we have a Fretless Fender Precision Bass, 1979 Made in USA
the Fender bolt on guitars and Basses were very popular in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Fender started production of the fretless models in the 1970s. A good example is the the bass below. A solid bass made out of alder with a maple board. Great looker with the cherry sunburst and the chrome hardware. Maple neck and lacquered fretboard.
Here we have a Fender Precision Bass, 1997 Made in Japan.
the Fender bolt on guitars and Basses were very popular in the 50s, 60s and 70s and in order to stem the competition from copies, Fender started production of the most common models like the P bass in Japan. Initially called JV guitars, the later models were made as made in Japan. Typically these models were excellent quality and good value for money.
the bass below is no exception. A solid bass made in Japan in 1990s. Great looker with the black block in-lays and the cream white finish. Maple neck and lacquered fretboard.
