1st issue Yamaha SBG-2000 in Dark Green finish, in excellent condition. A real beauty with its translucent dark green finish and one of the nicest Yamaha SGs in the 2000 series. The green is quite dark, and looks almost black. The history of the SG-2000 is interesting in that it was developed in the 1970s with the input from none less than Carlos Santana. Like it’s predecessor, the SG-175, the guitar plays like a dream.
The guitar is quite heavy, with a thru body neck, brass sustain plate under the bridge and an ebony fret-board. It is a very pretty guitar. This model is kitted out with coil taps, giving it enormous tonal range. Despite not common on early Yamaha SG-2000 , coil taps are commonplace in later SGs, and can be found on models like the slimmer necked, SG-2000s. A really great SG, lives in its case.
Here a near mint condition, Yamaha SG-2000 Custom Shop issue 2009 in glossy vintage cream finish. Of all the Yamaha SGs, this is no doubt one of the most desirable Yamaha SG-2000s. Like all other SG-2000 models, these have their origins in the SG-175, after involvement of Carlos Santana. The SG-2000 would go on to become one of the heaviest guitars around due to the choice of woods and tome woods and application of a brass block under the bridge. This development took place in the early 1970s. This is a pretty guitar, and despite the weight, the guitar plays like a dream, light and fluid, and has a super straight neck, allowing a set up with very low action. This model is fitted with coil taps, as that give it a massive tonal range. Guitar lives in a bespoke Yamaha engraved leather case.

The Yamaha SG-2000 is no doubt one of the most versatile guitars ever made, the older versions were not kitted out with coil tapping but this great guitar does and the tonal variety is enormous. The tobacco sunburst colour also makes it one of the most liked versions of this axe. The SG-2000’s renowned history and Carlos Santana’s involvement in the development of this super guitar way back in the 1970’s, make the proud owner of one of these part of rock’s rich history; this guitar plays like a dream, light and fluid, and has been set up with very low action. The guitar is heavy, fitted with a thru body neck, brass sustain plate under the bridge and an ebony fret-board with real mother of pearl inlaid fret position markers.
