Yamaha SG-2000 in black finish, made in 1988 but still in excellent condition. A beauty with its shiny black finish. The finish is dark, and appears mirror-like. The history of the SG-2000 is interesting in that it was developed in the 1970s with the input from none less than Carlos Santana. Due to the quest for sustain and more sustain, the SG- Series became a very heavy guitar. The guitar kitted out with a thru body neck, brass sustain plate under the bridge and an ebony fret-board. This model is kitted out with coil tapped pick ups giving it enormous tonal range. Despite not common on early Yamaha SG-2000 , coil taps are commonplace in later SGs, and can be found on all the models slimmer necked, SG-2000s’s. A great SG, lives in its case.

New to collection a Yamaha SG-2000 in classy Tobacco Sunburst finish, in excellent condition. The guitar has acquired some minor patina, but appears to have been a case queen for a large part of its life. The finish is dark Tobacco and appears of mirror-like clarity as you can see from the pics. The SG-2000 is interesting in that it was developed in the mid 1970s with the input from Carlos Santana. Due to the quest for long sustain, and the then thinking that weight helps sustain, the SG- Series became a very heavy guitar. The guitar was kitted out with a laminated thru body neck, brass sustain plate under the bridge and an ebony fret-board. The main wood was a heavy slab of mahogany. The standard SG-2000 is kitted out with Alnico 5 pick ups giving it high output and growl.

The Yamaha SG-2000 is no doubt one of the most versatile guitars ever made, the older versions were not kitted out with coil tapping but this great guitar does and the tonal variety is enormous. The tobacco sunburst colour also makes it one of the most liked versions of this axe. The SG-2000’s renowned history and Carlos Santana’s involvement in the development of this super guitar way back in the 1970’s, make the proud owner of one of these part of rock’s rich history; this guitar plays like a dream, light and fluid, and has been set up with very low action. The guitar is heavy, fitted with a thru body neck, brass sustain plate under the bridge and an ebony fret-board with real mother of pearl inlaid fret position markers. All in all, this is a very pretty guitar, and in completely unblemished condition. Guitar lives in a super strong Hiscox case. Weight of guitar approx. 4.5 Kgs, neck width at nut approx. 4.4 cm.
Yamaha SG-2000 Custom in Flame Tobacco Sunburst finish, in excellent condition. Early 1991, Yamaha Corp celebrated 25 years of electric guitar making. In addition to the commemorative SG-25s, which was the anniversary version, Yamaha issued a limited custom run of guitars with highly decorative tops and finishes. This is a great looking SG-2000, and withiut doubt one of the most wanted versions of the Yamaha SG-2000. The guitar is heavy as all the SG ps, but it plays remarkably light and fluid, and is set up with nice low action. The guitar is quite well balanced and with a thru body neck, brass sustain plate under the bridge it keeps sustaining. Furthermore the Guitars has an ebony fret-board. It is a very pretty guitar with the flame coming out in certain light conditions.

The guitar is heavy, with a thru body neck, brass sustain plate under the bridge and an ebony fret-board. It is a very pretty guitar, although there are some water and tear marks. This model does not have the original coil taps as that was a later feature.
