The story of the BC Rich goes back to the late 1960s when the company was founded by Bernardo Chavez Rico in California in the USA. The models made by Bc Rich were unusually shaped, and seemed to appeal to the heavy metal scene. Particularly the Mocking bird was successful as a model although there are now numerous models in production. High end models are being custom made in the USA although the vast majority is being produced in east Asia.
I have some BC Rich Mockingbird Basses, for example, a Koa USA made 1979 bass has come recently. Check the pics.
