Here a 1999 Gibson Futura, in Natural Korina Wood in a limited edition. The guitar looks like a standard Explorer with a split V-shaped headstock. Despite the angular look, it balances well and plays well too. The Gibson Futura model was part of the “NewLook models designed in the late 1950s, and included the Explorer/Futura, the Moderne and the now well known Flying V. Each of these models has become iconic, for its use and shaping rock history or its absence like the Moderne, which appears to have disappeared completely and attained mythical status. Explorers, Flying Vs and the rare reissued Modernes have become quite collectible guitars. This example lives in its rectangular hard-case.
