Here a rare vintage 1980’s Guild Telecaster model T-200 in black. The T-200 Telecaster was based on input from legendary blues guitarist Roy Buchanan, a renowned Telecaster player. It was produced in relatively small numbers, primarily due to its lesser popularity compared to the set neck semi-acoustic Guild models. Launched in the 1980s, the T-200 remained in production until 1982. Initially produced with Roy Buchanan’s connection and input, its production gradually ceased. The guitar features a body shape similar to a Telecaster, complete with a bolt-on 25.5″ Scale Length neck . Constructed from alder wood and hard maple, the instrument boasts a dark black lacquer finish. It offers three distinct tone settings via the T-200 selector switch. The pickups follow standard Guild design with EMG’s, with the front pickup akin to the standard Telecaster, while the bridge pickup includes a single, iron-cored coil with a magnet below and iron strips extending from the lower magnet pole. The neck is crafted from Canadian maple, and the rosewood fingerboard features dot inlays. Completing the design is the distinctive ice hockey stick-shaped headstock, reminiscent of the Charvel style.
