Posted in: Rickenbacker 330. Tagged: Rickenbacker 330. Leave a comment

Here a Rickenbacker 330/12 in a Metallic Teal finish, made in USA in 1992 and is a stunning guitar. The 330 design appeared in the 1960s and has been updated over time to incorporate modern upgrades like Schaller tuners and Hi-gain pickups. The guitar has a classic sound and has the now well recognisable Rickenbacker look. The sound is quite twangy and made a a house hold tone by bands like the Jam in the 1980s. The neck has an easy accessible 24 3/4″ Scale Length, a bit shorter than the average Fender Strat, but bang on the Gibson LP range. The guitar body and neck are typically made of maple and the fingerboard is lacquered rose wood. Tuners are Schaller chrome type tuners. Guitar lives in its hard case.

Gibson LP Supreme, in an attractive Tea burst from 2010. This Gibson Les Paul Supreme in a cool understated flame finish a bit. The guitar is built from mahogany, maple and ebony fingerboard. in addition the body is chambered rendering it resonant and relatively light and easy to handle. Unlike other Les Paul models, there are no back plates for access to electrics etc, and neither is there a pick guard. The electrics have been applied via the enlarged jack socket cavity and via the pick up routes. The headstock also has an decorative globe motif. All in all a cool guitar. Guitars lives in its fitted black case.

Gibson Mini/Micro Barney Kessel model (2011, Rootbeer)

Posted by Elite Vintage Guitars on 14/02/2026
Posted in: Gibson Micro Kessel, Gibson Mini Kessel. Tagged: Gibson Micro Kessel, Gibson Mini Kessel. Leave a comment

Here a rare prototype #004 of a Gibson Solid body Barney Kessel model, in a stunning flame Rootbeer finish. Although this is a solid body guitar, this model is similar to the semiacoustic kessel models from the 1960s, designed with input of the legendary jazz guitarist Barney Kessel. Sporting a 2-vol, 2-tone arrangement and a 2-hum-bucker (burst-buckers) power plant, equipped with coil tapping on both tone pots, makes this an awesome tone machine. The guitar is similar to a Les Paul custom in its ability. This particular example was number 4 out of a trial run of the Kessel models that were produced for a very short period in 2011

Posted in: Yamaha SG-2000s. Tagged: Yamaha SG-2000s. Leave a comment

Here a Yamaha SG-2000s, a stunning Yamaha SG-2000s in translucent bottle green, it came in excellent condition. This is the -s variant denoted Yamaha SG-2000s due to the slimmer and more tapered neck and the different electrics, i.e. Coil Taps for the tone pots. The guitar is heavy, with a genuine thru body neck that shows up beautifully in the dark brown, brass sustain plate under the bridge and an ebony fret-board with abalone split wing fret markers. The guitar came with original case. Weight of guitar approx. 4.3 kgs.

Here another guitar from the Gibson stable, a Gibson Les Paul Standard model in Cardinal Red, a custom color, Made in 2023 as part of the limited edition colours issues. Great guitar with a fine top on it. This guitar has seen or no use at all and has only minor polishing marks to body and is in great overall condition. The overall playability is superb and the guitar is super resonant and has a nice feel about it, aided by the fact that it has a chambered body and an asymmetrical c shaped neck. Set up nice and low, it plays like butter. The guitar lives in its tan coloured hard case.

Yamaha SG-2000 (2009, Cream White)

Posted by Elite Vintage Guitars on 14/07/2025
Posted in: Yamaha SG-2000. Tagged: Yamaha SG-2000. Leave a comment

Yamaha SG-2000 Custom Shop reissue 2009 in glossy vintage cream finish. Of the Yamaha SGs, this is no doubt one of the most sought after Yamaha SG-2000s. The SG-2000 models have their origins in the SG-175, with involvement of Carlos Santana and would go on to become one of the heaviest guitars around at the time due to the choice of woods and application of a brass block under the bridge. This is a pretty guitar, and despite the weight, the guitar plays like a dream, light and fluid, and has a super straight neck, allowing a set up with very low action. This model is fitted with coil taps, as that give it a massive tonal range. Guitar lives in a Hiscox case

Gibson Les Paul Standard Heritage Series (Sunburst, 1980)

Posted by Elite Vintage Guitars on 12/07/2025
Posted in: Gibson LP Standard Heritage Series. Leave a comment

Here another example from the excellent 1980/1 Gibson LP Standard Heritage series  Gibson Les Paul Guitar with cool looks due to its lightly flamed sunburst finish. Not a screaming loud flame finish but very nice maple top and a killer sound to boot due to the sought after Tim Shaw pickups. Anyway, for those who know the Gibson Les Paul Historic Heritage range, you will have seen some great examples of Gibson’s craftsmanship. However, this one is quality and like the purpose of the Heritage series they are close replica cousins to the 1958/9 Gibson LP series. An R8/9 prehistoric, close to the vintage original, in an early, 1980 reissue.
