Here a 1980 Yamaha SG-1000 in Tobacco Sunburst finish, Generally we still see quite a few SG-guitars kicking about, but the SG-1000/2000 are becoming harder to get. The brass plated hardware shows some minor signs of use. The SG-1000 has been a great guitar and the weapon of choice of many renowned players.
The SG-1000 is considered a more rocky little brother of the acclaimed Yamaha SG-2000. A solid instrument and quality built with a set neck and ebony fret-board with mother of pearl, split wing position markers. Weight of guitar approx. 4.2 Kgs, neck width at nut approx. 4.4 cm. Here a Gibson Flying V2, this time an 1980 model of the same experimental design V2 design in an attractive Tobacco Sunburst. Also this model has the boomerang shaped Tim Shaw inspired pick ups. The V2 model has the general shape of a flying V but the V2 sported a 5-layered sculpted walnut and maple body. Initially these guitars came in either Maple or Walnut for the top & bottom layer known at Gibson as the “Sandwich”. More models in a variety of finishes and with normal humbucker shape pickups were produced till about 1982.

Here we have a Fender Precision Bass, 1976 Made in USA, in an attractive three-tone Sunburst. Fender’s bolt on guitars and Basses were very popular since their development in the 50s, and throughout the 60s and 70s, these have been the go to instrument of choice for many. With its classic design and recognisable tone these proved reliable and accessible. A good example is the the bass below. A solid bass made out of alder with a maple board. One of my better guitars, completely unmolested and all original, although some of the fender decal transfer has come off. The DG autograph is visible on the rear of the headstock. The guitar features an ash body and a standard maple fretboard and simple classic Strat look. It’s a light and responsive guitar and easy to play. Very good condition, no obvious marks or dents. In 1979, Fender celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Stratocaster (introduced in 1954) with its first “anniversary” instrument, and the first Fender Guitar to be issued in a pre-determined and numbered, limited quantity. A small run of 500 or so instruments produced were finished in Pearl White. However, due to the instability and excessive checking of the finish, many were recalled and re-finished in Porsche Silver (though Fender refers to it as “25th Anniversary Stratocaster Silver”), the colour that was used in the rest of the production run. However, despite the recall some white issues survived, here we have one of these rare pearlesque models in a relatively good condition.
