Here we have a relatively new Gibson Les Paul Classic, 2019 with a translucent red top. Cool looking guitar with a typical classic slim 60s neck profile.  This guitar an old school design of beauty with its understated simple and classy top. The instrument has various newer options such as coil splitting via the push-pull tone pots and burst bucker type pickups. It’s got a fantastic feel and smooth neck. Guitar is a great player and lives in its hard-case.

Fender Stratocaster Elite (1983, Green)

Posted by Elite Vintage Guitars - Gearpage on 19/02/2022
Posted in: Fender Stratocaster Elite. Tagged: Fender Stratocaster Elite. Leave a comment

Here we have an uncommon Fender Elite Stratocaster 1983 in a rare translucent green finish. The Elite Stratocaster was a guitar design aiming to integrate active electronics into an upgraded Stratocaster design.  While sharing many elements with a traditional Stratocaster, the Elite model used a different tremolo bridge and tremolo arm system. As for the sound the guitar has individual push pickup selectors and EQ-boosting TBX and MDX circuits allowing for active/passive selection and a wide sound spectrum. The Elite Strat was only produced for two years from 1983-85, but the later Stratocaster Plus does share some features with it. This guitar is quite a bonny looking machine with the translucent green showing the underlying wood grain. Guitar lives in its case.

Here a Rickenbacker 4003 bass, an example of a bass line with an illustrious rock history. The bass features a thru body neck construction and wings placed alongside the central neck. The Rickenbacker 4003, which replaced the 4001, which was issued first in 1961 and lasted till the 1980s. The 4003 differs in the truss rod design and has better wearing frets. The pickups are higher in output, and the bridge pickup, a so-called “horseshoe” pickup, was remodelled, featuring a more conventional design, although the “horseshoe”, is for looks only and removable. Just look at band recordings by Motörhead, Rush, Genesis and others, to fully appreciate the Rick sound.

Fender Telecaster Plus (Tobacco Sunburst 1999)

Posted in: Fender Telecaster Plus. Leave a comment

Here we have a 1999 Fender Telecaster  Plus model in tobacco sunburst. This is a rare Fender Plus model with a Wilkinson rolling metal nut and Lace Sensors pick ups in H/S configuration for reduced hum and guitar feedback. (Lace Sensors are true single-coil pickups; that are different from classic single coils. The main difference is that, like the pickups used on the old Fender Jags, the coil is surrounded by metal barriers which are designed to reduce electro-magnetic interference such as power line hum by way of shielding the coils).

Very versatile instrument and a joy to play. Defo one of the best Hum-bucker guitars  kicking around. Very responsive guitar and easy to play. Lovely coloured finish. Good condition. The guitar lives in its original Fender hard-case.

Gibson Les Paul Standard (1990, Cherry Sunburst)

Another quality guitar from the Gibson stable, a great looking 30+ year old Cherry Sunburst Gibson Les Paul Standard model. Great guitar with a lovely understated flame top on it. The immediate 1990s falls in were considered a so called “good wood” era and Gibson guitars were made to a high standard. This guitar has seen use and has some but minor marks to body and neck and is in great condition. The playability is superb and the guitar has an amazing tone about it.  Set up nice and low it plays like butter. Lives in its tan coloured case.

Guild Brian May, Red Special BHM-03 (1994, White)

Posted by Elite Vintage Guitars - Gearpage on 03/02/2022
Posted in: Guild Brian May BHM-03. Leave a comment

In addition to the BHM-01 Signature Pro, Guild produced a series of “Humbucker versions” which became known as the BHM-02 and BHM-03,  despite deviating from the copy of Brian’s own guitar.  Guild only produced a limited amount of this new edition, and this BHM-03 is finished in a rare white finish.

The fingerboard is made out of rosewood with low frets for fast easy action. The neck, like the BHM-01, is wider than most electrics (1 13/16 at the nut) allowing for string bending and access to the upper frets. The head of the guitar is arrow shaped and flat so as to position the tuning pegs almost in line with the strings, minimising bending at the at the nut. The nut positions the strings horizontally, and a ‘zero fret’.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Heritage Series (Flame Orange, 1980)

Here another 1980/1 Heritage series  Gibson Les Paul Guitar with cool looks due to its lightly flamed orange/honey finish. Not a screaming loud finish but very nice maple top and a killer sound to boot; for those who know the Gibson Les Paul Historic Heritage range, you will have seen some great examples of Gibson’s luthiers’ craftsmanship. However, this one is quality and like the purpose of the Heritage series they are close replica cousins to the 1958/9 Gibson LP series. An R8/9 prehistoric, close to the vintage original, in an early, 1980 reissue.

Here a remarkably pretty Gibson Les Paul Guitar with cool looks due to its quilted honey finish. Not a screaming loud finish but very nice maple top and a killer sound to boot; for those who know the Gibson Les Paul Historic Heritage range, you will have seen some great examples of Gibson’s luthier craftsmanship. However, this one is supercool and no other than that this is a close cousin to the 1958/9 Gibson LP series. An R8/9 prehistoric, close to the vintage original, in an early, 1980 reissue.

Gibson Les Paul Standard (2018, Blood Orange Burst)

Here a quality guitar from the Gibson stable, a great looking Blood Orange Sunburst Gibson Les Paul Standard model. Great guitar with a flame type top on it. Although it’s a near new guitar it appear to be a quality build. Not unlike the so called good wood era models when Gibson guitars were apparently made to a high standard. This guitar has seen no use at all and has nearly no marks to body and is therefore in great condition. Even the pick-guard was not fitted and no drill holes are present on the body.  The overall playability is superb and the guitar has a cool look about it. Set up nice and low it plays like butter. Lives in its tan coloured case.

Fender Esprit (1984, Sunburst).

Here another one from Fender Japan, here a super cool looking Fender Esprit, one of the few Japan made Fender set neck models. The guitar is made in an attractive sunburst finish. The Fender Esprit, along the Flame, and Robben Ford models were made in the famous Fujigen Gakki Factory. The sound is produced from two strong humbuckers, similar to the ones used in the Musicman Stingray Guitars
