During my quest for uncommon Gibson guitar models, I stumbled upon the uniquely shaped Gibson Moderne, crafted in the USA in 1982. This model is believed to be part of the innovative designs from the 1957-59 era, which included the Moderne, Flying V, and Explorer. To date, no 1957 Moderne has surfaced, with the nearest equivalents being the 1982/83 reissues. Presented here is an exceptional 1982 specimen in Korina wood with a Cream White finish. The guitar boasts an impressive appearance and equally remarkable sound, thanks to its two Tim Shaw pickups, configured with a dual volume and single tone control, plus a pickup selector switch. Capable of producing both grungy and clean tones, it features a slender neck with a rosewood fretboard. The headstock is club-shaped and adorned with numerous string tees that lead to the tuning machines. This guitar is housed in its original case.
