This guitar boasts an amber two-piece book-matched flame top, a bound, small-bodied Explorer with Les Paul Custom-style inlays on the ebony fingerboard, and a cherry red finished mahogany back, sides, and neck. The neck has a great feel, reminiscent of the slim ’59 profile, wide with large frets. Aesthetically pleasing, this 100% original, unaltered guitar includes the original hard shell case and paperwork. Despite its angular look, it is well-balanced and plays smoothly. Such Explorers have contributed to the iconic sound of U-2. Created in 1957, Explorers, along with Flying Vs and the scarce Modernes, are now sought-after collectibles.
